Windows 11 Pro – $10

Windows 11 Pro is great for people who are invested in the Microsoft infrastructure such as automatically uploading your backup data to OneDrive. You can benefit from A.I. tools like Copilot built into the operating system. Native support for Microsoft Office, and Adobe software, as well as day-1 game compatibility is what draws many to Windows.

Linux Operating System

We have multiple options that we regularly can install, and there are a multitude of options available, but they all have some general benefits. Specifics are listed further down.

Linux overall is more secure and much more private than Windows. A majority of malware online is designed for Windows or MacOS, but if it’s downloaded on a Linux computer it rarely can infect your system.

Similar to what was mentioned in the Windows blurb above, if you’re heavily invested in Microsoft and Adobe software, they don’t work (or at least well at this point) on Linux. There are some great alternative programs if you’re flexible in your workflow though.

Linux – Mint (Cinnamon) – Free!

Linux Mint (running the Cinnamon desktop) is a great operating system if you are familiar with Windows, and many users would be able to use it very intuitively.

Linux – MX (XFCE) – Free!

MX Linux in many ways is our option for mid-level to advanced Linux users for the tools provided, and how the operating system doesn’t hold your hand as much as some of the others. Beginners can get into it as well, and this was at one point our default choice, however this pool has a deep end, so to speak.

Linux – Pop!_OS – Free!

Pop!_OS is built by System76 who also sell brand new computers that are built with Linux in mind. It’s a polished and fancy operating system that shares some similarities with Mac OS, but ultimately everyone can feel comfortable in.
